Spectrum Learning Center offers one-on-one individualized programs in reading, language arts, math, study skills and homework tutoring. We tutor student in grade school, junior high, high school and college.
EIGHT+INDIVIDUALIZED PROGRAMS TO MEET YOUR CHILD'S NEEDS
BASIC READING
This program is tailored to meet the specific needs and learning styles of students who are behind their classmates in reading. The program includes complete diagnostic testing. individualized instruction in and multisensory practice of needed word attack skills, vocabulary skills, comprehension skills, application skills, and test taking strategies.
ADVANCED READING
Based on initial diagnostic testing results, this accelerated reading program is designed to develop reading vocabulary, advanced comprehension skills, reading speed. and test-taking strategies. Students also learn to analyze, creatively synthesize and evaluate data. In other words, ADVANCED READING provides the challenged student's need to reach their full potential.
BASIC LANGUAGE ARTS
Developed for the child who "hates to write", this program emphasizes a multisensory approach focused on successful mastery of basic spelling strategies, grammar usage, mechanics skills, basic compositional stages and strategies, and applied writing for a variety of purposes.
ADVANCED LANGUAGE ARTS
Designed for the bright child who enjoys writing, this literature-based program focuses on compositional stages and strategies, applied writing, and creative writing. This program also provides the creative stimulation talented students need to do their best.
SKILLS FOR SCHOOL SUCCESS
Created for the child who needs help putting all the pieces together in school, this program develops successful school behavior, organizational skills, important learning strategies, research skills, and test preparation/taking. Overall, skills for school success empowers students to reach their future!
BASIC MATH
With special computer software and hands-on manipulative materials reinforcing instruction, math becomes fun and challenging. Students also learn to master number concepts, basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios and properties, and problem solving applications skills.
PRE-ALGEBRA
This program provides a base for introducing building on, and extending key concepts of algebraic and logical thinking.
