The Jewel of Sacramento County
It is home to one of only two regional branch libraries in the county, and to the San Juan Unified School District, one of the highest rated districts in the nation.
Many treasures are to be found in Carmichael, such as the rare hybrids of camellias, dogwood, and other flora in the Jensen Botanical Gardens, or the exhibits of flora and fauna at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center.
The community's riches include an 18-hole golf course that's one of the best public courses anywhere, and Ancil Hoffman Park's 85-acre nature study area and equestrian trails.
The businesses, organizations and individual members of the Carmichael Chamber of Commerce are the "crown Jewels" of the community. They invest time, energy and resources in the people of Carmichael, and they give generously of themselves to their customers. There's a sense of pride in the goods and services they provide; in fact, many of the area's business owners are available to serve their customers directly. There's a hometown feeling as you conduct your business with people who know your name and who worship, play, work or live close to you.
