A half-century after its founding, this is an amazing group of volunteers building a better Rancho Cordova. This legacy of mutual support is a hallmark of our community life.
Where would community builders meet to discuss the future of their new town and plan common activities, like a Fourth of July celebration? They formed a unique "organization of organizations" and christened themselves the "Cordova CommunityCouncil." That legacy of mutual support and collaboration has become a hallmark of Rancho Cordova community life for the past five decades.
Today, as the Cordova Community Council leaps into its second half century, it remains true to those original goals. Together with the City of Rancho Cordova and sister organization, the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce, the Cordova Community Council has spread its wings to help Rancho Cordova soar to even greater heights. That effort was rewarded in 2010 when Rancho Cordova was named an"All-America City" by the National Civic League, affirming the work that has taken place and establishing a high bar for future accomplishments.
The Cordova Community Council Foundation is recognized by the federal government as a bona fide 501 (c) 3 public benefit non-profit organization. It resides within Rancho Cordova City Hall -- and in the inspiring work of its many member organizations and active citizen members.
