    Citizen of the Year
    Josie Steelman
Josie Steelman grew up in the Mexican barrios of San Antonio and never finished high school as a teen. But during a lifetime of working and going to school she became living proof that you are never too old to learn and it’s never too late to start.

    Outstanding Service to Youth
    Betty and Ross LeFever
Everybody knows the saying: It takes a village to raise a child. But in very rare cases the opposite can be true. That is, it takes a couple to raise a village. At least that’s the life story of Betty and Ross LeFever of Rancho Cordova.

    Educator of the Year
    Glenn Reagan
A wise person once said that teachers teach more by what they are than by what they say. That could certainly be said of Glenn Reagan of Cordova High School.

    Logo
    Outstanding Youth Leadership
    Kelli Davis
Cordova High School has many outstanding students, but few can hold a candle to the accomplishments of Kelli Davis, Class of 2009.

    Outstanding Public Service
    City of Rancho Cordova Employees
If you a government worker, there are plenty of jokes you know only too well... That may be true in some government jobs. But not at the City of Rancho Cordova, where city employees can often be seen doing their job – and a whole lot more.

    Faith Leadership
    Knights of Columbus
When you live and share your faith you become a shining light and help to others. Those are words that help describe the Knights of Columbus Council 5322 at St. John Vianney Church.

All American Fourth of July Volunteer
    Brian Danzl
Each year, the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Committee honors a volunteer whose contribution was especially critical. In 2008, that volunteer was Brian Danzl, whose skill as an electrician helped make the lights come on, the French fries sizzle, the music soar and more.
