Cordova Neighborhood Church is a non-denominational church affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, a missionary denomination committed to evangelism, discipleship, and church planting among responsive peoples worldwide.
HISTORY
Reverend Samuel E. Rudat founded Cordova Neighborhood Church in 1955 in order to minister to the then new community of Rancho Cordova. The church first met in Rudat's home, then at several business locations until 1960, when they moved to their present location on Coloma Road.
In 1990, they welcomed a new Pastor, The Reverend Michael E. Mitchum. Pastor Mike's insight into the community and its needs brought about new ministries like Neighborhood Meals, Seniors in Service for Christ, Volunteers in Tax Assistance, and Respite Club. These efforts have truly built a strong foundation for their growing church.
In 1999 Cordova Neighborhood purchased the property adjacent to their church in order to add a Family Ministries Facility onto the existing building. Cordova Neighborhood operates the "Big Kids Club," an affordable licensed childcare facility.
