Family Support Services provides human support to students and their families within the Folsom Cordova Unified School District.
FOLSOM CORDOVA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD) serves the cities of Folsom and Rancho Cordova, including 21 elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, two continuation high schools, several alternative education programs, adult education, a number of early childhood programs, and service centers. FCUSD is committed to providing excellence in educational programs that carry high expectations for each student's achievement and success. Since families are an integral part of the educational process, family involvement is actively sought, encouraged, and welcomed.
FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES
Family Support Services offers the follow programs:
- The STARS After School Program operates at ten schools in Rancho Cordova and provides homework help, nutritious snacks, physical/recreational play and enrichment activities at no cost to 550 students every day after school until 6:00.
- The Cordova Student Union (CSU) is a gathering place, resource center, and after school program offered at no cost to Cordova High School students.
- The School Readiness Project engages parents of children under the age of 5 in hands-on learning activities with their youngsters, offers parent workshops and classes, and leads summertime Kinder Camps children starting kindergarten.
- The District's Family Resource Center, at the Family Support Services central office, connects families with health and human services available in the broader community and provides bilingual assistance to families in completing Medi-Cal/Healthy Families insurance applications.
