The Rancho Cordova Emblem Club works in close association with the Rancho Cordova Elks Lodge in their dedication to charitable acts in the community as well as originating patriotic endeavors to bear true allegiance to the Flag and Constitution of the United States of America.
The Emblem Club attracts individuals of many diverse talents, abilities, and ages, all of whom combine to make Emblem a very special organization that has an important place for each member. Following the Emblem Club motto of, "Truth, Justice, and Charity" to guide all club work, members strive toward the common goal of bettering their community.
HISTORY
The Emblem Club began in 1917, when a small group of ladies belonging to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks regularly met together to wrap bandages for soldiers fighting in World War I. The women enjoyed the sociability and sense of accomplishment the meetings offered. The combination of assisting others with good fellowship appealed to other women, and eventually a community group was formed. The organization was officially chartered in 1926 in the state of Rhode Island as the Supreme Emblem Club of the United States of America. In its more than seventy years of formal existence, the Emblem Club has chapters in every section of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. With this organization continuously progressing, the future of the Emblem Club is even more promising.
EMBLEM CLUB TODAY
The policy of charity and community service is the heart of the Emblem Club, and the hundreds of thousands of hours and dollars that are given to others is the glue that binds Emblem Club members together. Members run programs specializing in patriotism, drug awareness, literacy, national disaster relief, as wells as numerous academic scholarships. They also dedicate their efforts to soldiers overseas, working closely with organizations like Any Soldier in an effort to support U.S. soldiers in harm's way.
In Rancho Cordova, members remain focused on these common goals by holding regular meetings at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month at the Rancho Cordova Elks Lodge. For more information about how the Emblem Club is active in community service today, please fill out the form on the left.
