The United Methodist Church of Rancho Cordova?s mission is to know Christ and to make Christ known by using the varied gifts given by God to serve each other and all humanity with love.
United Methodists believe in the primacy of grace, human dignity, conversion, faith, good works, and tolerance. The United Methodist Church is a "connectional church," which means churches are connected by a system to guide their work and govern their policies. This allows Methodist churches to pool their resources to effectively work together and be in ministry throughout the world.
HISTORY
On April 23, 1968, The United Methodist Church was created with the words, "Lord of the Church, we are united in Thee, in Thy Church and now in the United Methodist Church."
The new denomination's roots were founded in the theological traditions that developed from the Protestant Reformation, Wesleyanism, and relationships that dated back almost two hundred years.
Early Methodists placed primary emphasis on putting faith and love into action, called "practical divinity." This emphasis has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today. When it was created in 1968, The United Methodist Church had approximately 11 million members, making it one of the largest Protestant churches in the world.
UNITED METHODIST CHURCH TODAY

The Church has endeavored to become a community in which all persons, regardless of racial or ethnic background, can participate in every level of its connectional life and ministry.
