It is an on-line resource guide where businesses can find businesses, tips and best practices that can support them in their use of the internet and technology to save them time and money and to market their products and services. If your business provides these services we can post your information...
Is this meant to replace my website and current marketing efforts?
Not at all. It is meant to supplement your efforts using what I will call aggregate or co-op marketing. By grouping together businesses with various services that target a similar market, we can each reach more potential customers at a fraction of the cost to do it individually. Think of it as a trade expo on -line. By attracting a larger audience, we can each funnel more potential customers to our "virtual front door". We provide profile spotlighting your business and a link to your website to help fill in the gaps not covered in detail in the profile.
 
So, what make these profiles so effective?
Our M.A.G.I.C. Marketing formula is applied to each profile. It's the same formula we apply to building an effective website for clients, just condensed onto one page so we can promote your business "in a nutshell". We like to call them "Ads with Attitude".
 
How will the website promote my services?
Businesses in the co-op will have the opportunity to submit articles that will educate visitors and then link to the profile. We will also have webinars that can be recorded and posted as well. Articles & webinars can be linked and promoted in the newsletter, on our Facebook fan page and featured on the HOME page of the website.

How are you promoting the website...
so potential clients will find it and then me?
We launch the site with an live business Expo which is co-sponsored with the Rancho Cordova Chamber on June 10, 2010. 750 postcards have been printed which will be distributed at various events. Also email invitations will be sent out. As we all know, word of mouth is a powerful marketing strategy and the participating businesses are encouraged to invite their clients and contacts which will be new to the others in the co-op.
Can I be in the Expo but not on the website?
Yes but if you are listed on the website there are two major benefits: 1) You will have marketing exposure before, during, and after the live event. 2) You receive discounted pricing at all events sponsored by the Gear group.
 
Who will come to the Expo?
All businesses are inviting their personal contacts. In addition, the Rancho Cordova Chamber is a co-sponsor of this event and will be inviting their members to attend and participate. We also have booths at various upcoming business events. Check the calendar for details.
 
Will you continue to have live events?
Yes. Face to face time is always valuable in creating a connection with potential clients so we will offer live seminars as a promotion strategy. However, getting people to events when life is so busy is always a challenge. So we will also use webinars and recordings to get you face-to-face without the logistic challenges of live events.
 
What other strategies will be used?
Enewsletters will be sent once a month (depending on content) that will feature articles, event promotion, and "what's new" from the member businesses. Keeping top of mind with our current contacts is a key strategy in any form of marketing and emails are cost-effective but again take time. What's more, as a website developer, sending my contacts website tips each month gets boring (for them and me). So by sharing article duty with other businesses, it is a win for all of us.
 
Will only internet strategies be used?
No. I am an advocate of all forms of marketing. CLICK HERE to see how I am now using my vehicle to promote the site. The printed material and banners I have made all promote OUR website, not just my website. 
 
Are you using social networking?
Absolutely! It's one of the reasons I built this co-op. It's something I know is important but I have no expertise in nor the time to develop. I am working with experts in the field to promote the co-op on Facebook and other platforms that will effectively promote the website and drive traffic there.
 
Since eNutshells is a search engine, are you competing with Google?
No. (Are you kidding?) This model is a localized, industry-specific website built on a search engine platform. The benefit is the website can be searched for content and keywords to make it very useful to the visitor as well as utilizing trail markers that will lead the visitor to more information. All the pages are also "search engine friendly" which means the search engines can find and rank the pages.
 
Can you guarantee the pages will be found on the first page of Google?
No. However, the model of a large, content-rich website with multiple links does better than most "stand alone" websites. In the future, we will be looking to work with experts that can assist us in optimizing the site for best results in search engine ranking. Our first goal is to develop content and keep the cost of participation minimal as we launch.
 

How will potential customers find me...

Your business listing can be found in several ways. By category, keyword searches, links from articles and events, links from other businesses, and links from ads on key pages if you are a sponsor. In addition...
We want to provide you visibility when they are looking for your services as well as strategic links based on where they are when they aren't necessarily looking for you. It's our "oh, by the way" indirect marketing strategy...
 
How do I get my business listed?
We encourage you to submit an application for membership. Applications will be voted on by the current membership and after review by the advisory committee will be accepted or not. What's more, a business does not have to be directly internet, technology, or marketing related.
 
Why do you vote?
There are a few "rotten apples" in ANY industry and none of us want to invite our contacts and clients to a website where they might find those "RA's". The website is owned and operated by XLeration Services and we maintain the privilege to post information and links that we deem relevant to the purpose and spirit of the website. Voting is our diplomatic way to manage this process.
 
Can a business be voted out?
At the bottom of each business profile is a way where clients and businesses can post comments. Positive comments (testimonials) are encouraged and will be posted. The business will be notified of these when posted. Negative comments will NOT be posted. The business will be notified as an FYI. If a pattern of negative feedback and comments is noticed by the steering committee, it will research the information including discussing the information with the member business. It may be determined that a pro-rated refund of the listing fees be returned to the business and the listing removed.
 
Is the website limited to the number of businesses in a "category"?
Yes & No. Categories have too many fuzzy lines. Most businesses now offer more than one service and overlap is sure to happen if we attempted to limit by category. We have therefore decided to invite any business to participate at the level that best suits them. This also gives the business that visits the website more information and more options. However, we do ask each business to focus on a specialty and YOUR unique selling proposition.
 
Was does it mean to sponsor a specialty?
We are offering a few sponsor level listings. These business are given first opportunity at writing articles, offering webinars and physically being at events. They are given top billing at our events and are invited to serve on the advisory committee for the website.
 
Why should I participate on a website if my competition is there?
Every business HAS competition so the key to EVERY marketing strategy (on-line and off) is to determine and promote your "WOW" factor or your "Unique Selling Proposition". The business profile is designed to give you a platform where a strong marketing message, testimonials, audio, video, pictures and links can be use to promote your business to the best effect.

So, what makes these profiles (and therefore me) "unique"?
The search engine platform is called eNutshells.net because the pages can market you "in a nutshell". Our M.A.G.I.C. Marketing formula is applied to each profile, article, and event link. We like to call them "Ads with Attitude". It is not meant to replace your website. However, for businesses that don't have a website, the one-page business profiles can easily serve as one. We will make these profiles creatively compelling and can incorporate video, audio, slideshows, storyboards, testimonials, "interview me" buttons and more depending on your level of partication.
 
 

Does it cost anything to get listed...
and what are my options?
As you know, marketing is an investment so we do ask businesses to participate at a level that they can afford. You can get a better bang for your buck because of the co-op concept and the very specific targeted marketing approach to effectively reach more potential customers with better results. Monthly fees start for as little as $10 per month...
Starting at $10 per month, you can get more promotion (and therefore more potential customers) at various levels that peak at about $100 per month.
 
Isn’t a $100 a month a LOT?
Depends on how you look at it. The monthly fees I pay for email services ($45/mo), audio/video enhancements ($40/mo), and on-line meetings and webinars ($50/mo) alone total well over $100 per month. On top of that I still have to do the work. If you participate, you would still need to write the article or conduct the webinar. However, by participating in the co-op, you can utilize all of these promotional methods and have our assistance in posting and distributing the information.
 
So what do I get at the various levels?
To be listed on the website as a resource we post the following:

Are the fees collected annually?
The fees are collected for the upcoming year for the listing options (basic and enhanced). For featured and sponsor levels, we will offer bi-annual or annual payment options. Some features can also be added as individual options.
 
 

Are there options for others businesses...
that are not in the internet, tech, or marketing industries?
Within the next month, we will launch the sister website, GetYourBizInGear.com where other business-to-business categories will be promoted including accounting services, coaching, office and more. An expo is already being planned for September. If you are not a B2B, there are options for you too...
The concept of aggregate marketing can be applied to any industry. All you need is a few businesses that have the same target market as you do. The model can be open or category-specific.
