The Cordova Community Council Volunteer Awards is a public event designed to celebrate and inspire volunteerism in the community and raise the profile of outstanding volunteer efforts.
COLLABORATORS
This celebratory event includes dinner and inspiring Awards Ceremony. The Cordova Community Council conducts all award nominating and selection efforts. Local businesses provide sponsorship and in-kind donations.
These awards are considered to be the premiere volunteer honors in the Rancho Cordova community, with the "Rancho Cordovan of the Year" a prestigious designation, usually recognizing a lifetime of community contribution. This is event is a match for companies whose corporate culture prizes volunteer contribution and service to the community and wishes to identify with these values in the Rancho Cordova community.
ATTENDANCE
This event is attended by a broad spectrum of civic leaders and local elected officials who participate in the awards ceremony. Current venue limits attendance to approximately 175 people, and the 2009 event was a total sell-out. Nominations for the awards and ticket sales will begin in January.
PUBLICITY
This event enjoys widespread publicity in the Rancho Cordova community as it is recognized as the most prestigious of local awards events. The event is marketed to the community through local media and flyers distributed among civic groups and the general public.
SPONSORSHIPS
Planning cycle begins in early January, with sponsor deadlines for collateral materials, including publicity flyers, programs and volunteer gear, as well as table and room decoration on Feb. 1. Event marketing is year-round on the Cordova Community Council website, which displays winners and their stories for a full year. Event marketing begins on Feb. 1 through the local media and CCC e-newsletters program.
