26th Annual Rancho Cordova Fourth of July

Star Spangled Weekend

26th Annual Rancho Cordova Fourth of July

Rancho Cordova Fourth of July is a two-day festival celebrating the local community and our American heritage. It is the signature event for the community.

COLLABORATORS
This complex event engages more than 300 local volunteers, numerous service organizations and many business sponsors within the community. Its popularity is confirmed by the large audiences which turn out for the parade, two-day festival, free concerts and fireworks shows. It is produced by the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Committee, a subcommittee of the Cordova Community Council and it many community sponsors.

ATTENDANCE
Who attends the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July? Who doesn't? With its dozens of free activities, festival food, carnival rides, concerts, fireworks and more, the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July lays claim to the title of "premiere Fourth of July event in the region". No other community celebration offers the breadth of activities as does the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July. Attendance has grown steadily over the years, and has stabilized at more than 25,000 who attend the parade, festival and fireworks.

PUBLICITY and PLANNING
This event is marketed to the community and region through local media and radio advertising by sponsors on our behalf. Another 20,000 flyers are distributed through the newspaper and community channels. The Fourth of July Committee collaborates with the local newspaper to produce a special section distributed prior to and at the event.

The event enjoys wonderful pre-event support from local media and is often part of regional news coverage by television, radio and print.

Planning cycle for this event is year-round. Sponsor deadlines for collateral material including publicity flyers, programs and volunteer gear is May 20. Event marketing and advertising, including a publicity campaign, begins June 1.

VOLUNTEERS
The Rancho Cordova Fourth of July celebration requires hundreds of volunteers to do everything from providing security and setting up the event, to offering activities to the community. One group of volunteers does nothing but cares for other volunteers! At the end of the event, one or more outstanding individuals is named the All American Fourth of July Volunteer, an honor enjoyed for an entire year. Lifelong friendships form among Fourth of July volunteers and the experience, while exhausting, is fun and satisfying. If volunteering is of interest to you, CLICK HERE to learn more.
