The California Capital Air Show is a regional event held in Rancho Cordova, meant to showcase the area's aviation history, celebrate patriotism, entertain and serve as an economic driver for the entire area.
COLLABORATORS The California Capital Air Show is produced by a 510 c 3 public benefit corporation presided over by a board of directors representative of the community. The executive director of the Cordova Community Council is a member of that board with special responsibilities for recruitment, training and care of the 1,000 volunteers needed to power the air show.
ATTENDANCE Attendance at the California Capital Air Show has ranged from 40,000 to 100,000 people per year. The board of directors has taken the important step of engaging an executive director whose goal is to grow the air show into the largest self-supporting public event in the Sacramento Metro area.
PUBLICITY The air show is publicized through a wide variety of media outlets, website and more. It receives widespread media coverage and is an emerging signature event for both Rancho Cordova and the region.
VOLUNTEERS This huge event requires a huge army of volunteers. Volunteer recruitment will begin in the spring with widely-publicized volunteer recruitment Open House events. If you are interested in volunteering for the air show, please plan to attend one of the events. More information on volunteering will be available at www.californiacapitalairshow.com.
